The Third Moon Wisdom

Hexagram 43, Breakthrough To move beyond obstacles, either by piercing them or by circumvention, is to attain a Break-through. Break-through is to exercise the proper action that enables something to evolve from potentiality into a condition of manifested fact. In the Spring season of any manifestation, eyes are encouraged to open, hearts to beat faster, seeds to germinate, shoots to appear, and all nature to begin moving again. This is Break-through.

Sequence: Break-through means resoluteness. Ordinary or deteriorated situations are confronted with determination and strongly aggressive actions. Evil is best transformed by one's energetic pursuit of that which is good.

The Mandalas of

Transformative Tao

The Sanskrit word mandala has the meanings of a circle, a sphere, a territory or a group, In Buddhism the word is applied to sacred art designed to present compendia of teachings. In most cases their advantage as educational tools lies in their immediate, nonlinear presentation of interrelated ideas to be held in mind together.

First used in the Taoist schools of the early centuries CE, I Ching mandalas came into the public domain during the Sung dynasty between the tenth and thirteenth centuries.    There are various sets of I Ching mandalas, with common and different designs. Generally speaking, there are two major functions associated with these mandalas. One is to encapsulate the foundation of the ideas underlying the I Ching, the other is to encapsulate models of I Ching organizational patterns or study courses. A basic characteristic of these functions is that they are interdependent, as are all of the teachings of the I Ching itself.

The Transformative Tao mandalas encapsulate models of I Ching evolutionary patterns known as the twelve branches. Each of the sixteen mandalas presents a progressed pathway of engaging the I Ching towards the realization of a way of being and the manifestation of something. Through a progression of hexagrams seventy-two I Ching lines are engaged in a specific order. The process creats a result while contributing to the enlightenment of the participant.

The sixteen Transformative Tao mandalas are based on the nuclear hexagrams of the I Ching. Each mandala is an up-leveling of transformational and evolutionary applications. As the Synchronistic Response, each nuclear hexagram is the seed for the begetting, becoming and begoing of a human generated event or episode. Twelve hexagrams displayed in the mandala are means of processing material that rises up and is transcended. The orderly discipline of moving means and matters through to completion while personally developing spirt, mind and body is a benefit of the process.

A personal mandala is identified through the Tao Time process and a structured discipline that proceeds one through a transformational process is available for you. Be in a Zen Taoist way where Being in Begetting, Becoming, Begoning is the landscape. Be like water,

Transformative Tao Seminar begins with March 19th Workshop

Over the next two and a half moon cycles  experience a deepened wisdom of the I Ching and realize a manifesting of your inquiry. This 14 part seminar uses the Twelve Branches process of manifesting a contextual reality, way of being, of acquiring or releasing "among the ten thousand things" through a Zen Shojo transformative vehicle.

Your life activites, including intentional, habitual and happenstance, are the means and matters. By faithfully and diligently sojourning through the order of the I Ching images during the upcoming lunar cycles you'll realize your request in it's most appropriate form. Be like water.

The 12 Branch structure of the I Ching is both the vehicle and a map of a transformative sojourn. During the 72 days of the Transformative Tao process your daily personal life and activity is your landscape.

Everything is material, those you encounter deliver messages, things are given and taken away, stuff happens. The approach is experiential. One acts from instinct and intuition independent of judgement. Results are measured in matters and means.

Being in the way of the Transformative Tao cultivates seeing what is coming, hearing what is about to be said and knowing what is ready to happen for you. This way is auspicious in providing openings for spiritual alchemy.

'Riding the Dragon's Tail'

In the Tao Time I Ching meet-up group  the IChing is explored as an adventure in navigating fate and destiny. The inquiry to the oracle 'What time is it for me?' identifies the vehicle.

According to the I Ching at Hexagram 63:2 'Do not chase - you will gain in seven days.

To "chase" means to follow things. If you follow things, you lose your basic control, so the text warns not to chase. Control yourself without slipping, and in seven days you will gain.

A hexagram has six lines; the number "seven" therefore means change. To "gain in seven days" means to engage a hexagram as time changes.

To gain, cast and follow a hexagam, a line a day, for six days. Enter a self- development vehicle; a Zen Shojo, of experiencing the hexagram.

Being in a line a day of a hexagram - rising up from line one to line six.

Changes occur in perception and circumstance of means and matters.

You act discerning the nature of changes and navigate the vehicle.

Entering the Gateless Gateway of Tao Time through the first four sessions. Enter anytime. Everyone follows this path; familiarity with each way is followed by choosing a path at the time of casting.

1. Follow the lines day by day and experience the cast wisdom of the oracle.

2. Follow the hexagram that occured through changing lines.

3. Weave the cast hexagram and the changed line hexagram focusing on the lines that make the two distinct.

4. Pursue a transformational experience through the nuclear hexagram of the casting.

Bring the I Ching hexagram into your life's means and matters; experience being in Tao consciousness.

Every session begins and ends with an informal 'cup of tea' discussion.
